Alex has performed for the Prince and Princess of Wales, on Canadian TV, at the Victoria & Albert Museum, and at weddings and corporate events at venues such as Farnham Castle and Sutton Place (both in Surrey), Knebworth House, Fanhams Hall, Hanbury Manor, Coltsfoot Centre, Ashridge Business Centre and Brocket Hall (all in Hertfordshire) and Cecil Sharp House, London.
He has also appeared at the Soho, Criterion, Cockpit, Fortune and Lewisham Theatres and the Queen Elizabeth Hall, St Martins in the Fields, St James’s, Piccadilly, St John’s, Smith Square, St Paul’s Cathedral and Westminster Abbey as well as various churches, cathedrals and concert halls throughout Britain and in France, Belgium, Holland, Canada and America. In addition he has been a member of various bands playing rock, pop and jazz.
As pianist he has appeared with artists such as Lionel Blair, Dana, Anita Harris, Honor Blackman, Anthony Stuart Lloyd, Lyn Paul, Mike Sterling, Elaine Delmar and Madeline Bell, as well as performing internationally in countries from the Caribbean to Norway, via North Africa and Russia.
His repertoire includes the songbooks of composers such as Cole Porter, George Gershwin, Irving Berlin, Hoagy Carmichael, songs from almost every major musical of the 20th and 21st centuries, jazz standards by Duke Ellington, Michel Legrand and Count Basie and pop songs by The Beatles, Elton John, George Michael and many others. Specific requests can always be accommodated.
In addition he also plays classical music by composers including Bach, Beethoven, Brahms, Chopin, Handel, Haydn, Mozart, Satie, Vivaldi and Warlock.
